Spotlight: doll #4- Tenney Grant

For my birthday in 2017 I got to go to the American Girl Store in DC. I brought all the money I had been saving up from past birthdays and christmases. Tenney and Logan had just released and I was so excited. At the time I was very into western/cowboy/country vibes so Tenney was right up my alley. I went in the store knowing she was coming home with me. My mom, sister, and nana all went with me, this was my first trip to an AGP afterall! I had a blast, it was a magical day. My Nana bought me Tenney's accessories as a birthday present, along with her banjo. My mom got me her Spotlight Outfit, the white lace top with the pink sparkly shirt and silver glitter cowgirl boots.

Tenney grew up in the foothills of the appalachian mountains in eastern Tennessee.  Her family owns a small dairy farm.  Her dad, Roy Grant, works as a ranch hand at the neighboring farms, while her mom, Francesca “Fran”, bakes pastries that she sells at the corner store down the road. Tenney, along with her two brothers, Preston and Roy Jr “Junior”, spent their childhood days frolicking through the meadows surrounding their farm, making up songs as they went. She idolized country music stars and felt an unbreakable connection to the stories woven into every twangy note. She grew up on Taylor Swift albums, listening even before her debut album, becoming a self proclaimed Swiftie. As Tenney grew she's aimed to carve out her own path as a singer-songwriter influenced by both modern pop-country flair and old Appalachian traditional storytelling. She now splits her time between the Blog By Dolls household and her family farm.

Tenney identifies as cisgender and straight. She's my boy-obsessed girlie, but has found trouble dating.  This is shown in her songwriting. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to learn about Tenney!
